Alisa produces the most gorgeous ethereal soft pink flowers radiating out from an ivory centre with each plant producing an abundance of medium-sized highly scented flowers throughout the season with a great stem length.
Flower size: individual flower stems can get up to 30cm in length with 3-4 flowers per stem
Plant height: 2-3m
Position: Full sun to semi shade on a trellis
When: March to May
Growing advice: Soak seeds in warm water for a few hours prior to planting to soften the hard outer shell. Plant the seeds into pots 2-3cm deep and once they have sprouted (usually in 10-14 days) make sure to keep them well watered. Once they have 2-3 sets of true leaves, and their roots are filling the pot plant them out against a trellis into soil with a lot of compost to get the best crop. Sweet peas hate being root bound so make sure to check regularly that they aren't root bound in their pots prior to planting out.
Plant out 15cm apart.
Pinch out the growing tip once they have 4 sets of true leaves to encourage branching stems and once they start flowering make sure to pick the flowers regularly to ensure a continuous supply of flowers. If left to go to seed, they will stop producing flowers.
Each pack contains 15 seeds
A jar of sweet peas is a beautiful statement alone for a desk, bedside table or centrepiece
